World Pashto Literary Convention.
Culture Department of Khyber Pakhtun Khwa is going to hold a two-day 2nd World Wide Pashto Literary Convention on 6th and 7th April 2012. The convention will be held with the collaboration of Pashto Adabi Chaman Thall, a Pashto Literary Organization. This is announced by Syed Iftekhar Hussain Shah, Minister for Culture and Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in a meeting held here at Peshawar.
Murad Shinwari Passes Away.
Son of Father of Pashto Ghazal (baba-e-Pashto Ghazal) and noted Pashto poet and short story writer Murad Shinwari passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012. He was 89 and was suffering a protracted illness..
Murad Shinwari was admitted to the Khyber Teaching Hospital almost a month ago after he suffered brain hemorrhage. His body was shifted to Landikotal where he was laid to rest.
A large number of people including poets, writers, tribal elders and political administration officials attended his Namaz-e-Janaza.
18th Death Anniversary of Amir Hamza Shinwari
The Culture Directorate of Fata Secretariat had arranged the ceremony where Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Governor Masood Kausar was the chief guest. A Pashto ‘mushaira’ was also arranged. Poets from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa paid poetic tributes to the famous poet.
Death Anniversary of Ajmal Khattak
Second Death Anniversary of noted poet, writer and political leader was held at Khushal Memorial Library, Akora Khattak. Mr. Salim Raz, a renown Pashto Poet and Writer Presided over a gigantic Pashto Mushaera held there at the occasion.
History on Hindko Literature is being Set.
Professor Bashir Ahmad Soaz announces as Hazara Chair of Hazara University is compiling the history of Hindko Literature. He requested the poets and writers of Hazara to send their poetic work consisted on Ghazal, Nazm, Geet, Mahiyas, Charbeta, Rubaiyat, chobolai, tarkai, etc in composed form, so as those should be included in the History Book on Hindko literature.
