Women Writer’s Forum was established in 1995. Bushra Iqbal, a young lady student, short story writer and then playwright of Pakistan Television Corporation PeshawarCentre was the founder of this literary organization of women of Pehsawar. Zetoon Bano was unanimously selected the first president of the forum in its initial stage.
It was not impossible but was quite difficult in such a society, where the women are not allowed to sit among male community to share their presentations of pieces of literary works, but the Women Writer’s Forum made it possible to encourage the female writers to come out of their homes and get together on a platform to produce their master pieces of literature and publish them.
Now a days Bushra Farukh, author of tow books of collection of her poetic works and a famous lady of showbiz is working as President the Forum while Salma Qasir is a senior vice president. We got an opportunity to ask and collect the information about this literary setup of females ofPeshawarfor SheenWeb.
We have organized lot number of literary sittings such as Quide Azam Day, Independence Day of Pakistan, Women days, Opening ceremonies of books of female writers belonging toPeshawarand also all around the world, they disclosed.
We have also organized All Pakistan Mehfil-e-Mushaeras of women poets. We use to convene monthly meetings of WWF, where the lady participants share their ideas to promote the writing habit especially in ladies lady wing literary activities of the area. We recently celebrated a function in honor of the author of a poetry book “KUNDAN” was published four years ago. We had also once organized opening ceremony of six books at a time, added Bushra Farukh and told that many big bosses of literary world ofPakistansuch as Iftikhar Arif, Zubaida Jalal had attended our functions and they appreciated us well. They also reconised the services of Dr.Professor Khatir Ghaznavi and Dr. Professor Nazir Tabasum’s efforts in respect of promotion of Women Writer’s Forum.

Great job .Actually women in our region are also very talented ,but due to our norms n traditions ,these women usually did not get apreciation for their writing abilities.Ms Zaitoon Bano ,Ms Bushra Farukh ,Ms Ghazala Nigar Orakzai, and some other are lucky enough to succeed in making their own identity.
